hi there!
About Christin
yoga teacher and slowmad from Berlin, and on a mission to create a space for remote workers where they find inner wellbeing and stability whilst chasing their dreams.
I am 500hr+ certified Hatha and Vinyasa yoga teacher with focus on meditation, pranayama, yogic philosophy and refinements in Bhakti, Karma, Jnana and Raja yoga. My specialization is Mandala Vinyasa yoga, a fun and creative flow where you move in 360degrees on your mat which activates creativity and flow state. Moreover I studied TCM (traditional chinese medicine), Ayurveda, yin yoga, thai yoga massage, crystal sound bowl healing and vaidika dharma in Bali, Thailand and Berlin with theyogabarn senior teachers Daniela Mandala and Tanya Kaps. I have taught in several coliving, -working spaces, yoga retreats and wellness hotspots in many beautiful countries across the globe and I’m happy having you here to share yoga as mindfulness tool with you.
Leaving my secure 9-5 job in the fashion industry in 2021 made me live my dream of ultimate freedom, traveling the world for two years, living and working in different countries across the globe. Only to realize that I need both, stability & freedom! I craved consistency in my life, in friendships, work, places but also in how I felt. I started to slow down, integrated more wholesome routines into my life and created a slow nomad lifestyle which gives me the balance of both worlds. I’m still pursuing my passion for exploring the world yet having deep roots created by my yoga practice which serves as tool for inner stability and for knowledge how to create an intentional life. This is how Namaste Nomad was born and this is how I can help you creating consistency & stability into your remote lifestyle.
why namaste nomad?
"Yoga is a great tool to cultivate inner stability even when there is constant outer change"
My “why” for creating Namaste Nomad is rooted in my experiences living and working abroad and missing a sense of connection, consistency and intention, yet wanting to live a free and independent life. My own yoga practice has served over the years as a constant anchor in turbulent times or when there was constant outside change in connections or environments. I met many remote workers and nomads over the years and a frequent problem for them is that they feel isolated, stressed, rushed and not in balance cause by a fast paced lifestyle. Their need for connection, consistency and slowing down can be supported by a consistent yoga practice and stable routine no matter where they are. My mission with Namaste Nomad is to create a space for those Nomads to connect with likeminded people and with their inner anchor through a regular yoga practice and integration of wholesome routines.
my story
… it’s not about being bendy but about cultivating a bendy mind …
WHY YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE?
When I started with yoga ten years ago, I first thought this is not for me as I am not flexible enough and couldn’t do all of the poses. I was almost about to “quit” trying yoga, but something changed when I committed to a regular practice. It helped me against back pain and to become more aware of my body. I also experienced how I became more calm and relaxed off the mat, too. I began to dream about a yoga teacher training to understand where all those benefits come from. But again I had doubts because of my flexibility. Yoga is about flexibility, right? How wrong I was …
I took a leap of faith and a sabbatical at work to do a yoga teacher training in theyogabarn in Bali. I learned about the philosophy behind the physical poses and why yoga is not being bendy like a pretzel but more about what you feel while working towards a challenging pose and that it has the power to positively change your life. I love that yoga makes you more present on the mat but ultimately off the mat too. While regular practice makes you indeed more flexible, it’s not the root cause for why yoga has the power to improve your life. It’s the consistency, the will to put yourself out there, to try again and again, to learn to be kind towards yourself and to see behind the facade, right into you heart. With my yoga classes I want to make yoga accessible to everyone, no matter how bendy someone’s body is, its about a cultivating a bendy mind. That’s why classes are designed beginner friendly and offer many adjustments according to your body and point towards the deeper meaning of the practice.
My classes are simple yet thoughtfully sequenced to bring body and mind into balance and nourish the soul. The holistic practice of Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga plays with breath, physical poses and meditation aspects to unite (origin of the word yoga “to union”) them and create a flow state. The classes invoke physical strength and flexibility and at the same time they point towards personal development while being accessible to every body.
